THE ABACOS, BAHAMAS

        FREE AND FUN

The Hope Town Lighthouse

Located on Elbow Cay, the Hope Town lighthouse is one of the most well known landmarks in the Abacos. Why? To date, it is the only manual lighthouse still existing in the world. Burning on pressurized kerosine, the lighthouse requires the lighthouse keeper to tend to the burner equipment every 2 hours in order for it to generate light.

Located on Great Guana Cay, Nippers Beach Bar is known for some of the wildest parties in the Bahamas. The restaurant is located on 2 miles of white sand beach, so if you need time to chill out, there's plenty of space to do that too. Sawmill Sinkhole

The Sawmill Sinkhole sits in the middle of an Abasco forest. It is somewhat difficult to find, but if you aren't familiar with the area you can always ask a tour guide to help you. The hole was once a dry cave, but gradually filled with water as sea levels rose. It is approximately 110 feet deep and was featured in National Geographic news for recent fossil discoveries including ancient tortoise shells and remains of a possible land crocodile!
