Japanese Friendship Garden

 

Located in San Jose, California, the Japanese Friendship Garden is a popular place for special events and weddings. The Garden was originally built as a symbol of the everlasting friendship between San Jose and Okayama, Japan. The garden is full of ponds, Japanese bridges, waterfalls, and picturesque scenery at every turn.

Pier 39

 

Pier 39 has plenty of things to see and do including shopping, dining, sailing, sightseeing, and more. The main attraction, however, are the hundreds of sea lions that make Pier 39 home. During the summer, most sealions migrate South, but during the winter months, numbers can reach up to 900 sealions each day!

Golden Gate Bridge

 

Visit the famous Golden Gate Bridge that boasts 756 foot towers, swooping cables, and art deco features.

Seward Street Slides

 

The Seward Street slides are part of a mini-park and community garden. They are two long slides that are built into the hillside - and built for all ages!

The Flinstone House

 

Yep! This is a real house - and it's located just North of San Francisco. Once known only as the "Dome House", it was actually built in 1976 as an experimental house. It was not until it was painted orange in 2000 that it took on it's Flinstone persona.

Colma, California is often referred to as "The Land of the Dead". The city was founded in 1924 as a necropolis and today the number of "dead" in the city largely outweigh the number of living.
